About Exam


AILET is conducted for admission to the National LAW University, Delhi exclusively (NLUD).
Students who crack AILET are eligible to pursue B.A. L.L.B (Hons), L.L.M and Ph.D Degree Programs on a merit base.
There are 80 seats in B.A. L.L.B course, 20 in L.L.M and Ph.D seats usually do not exceed over 10
NLUD does not uitilise the Common Law Admission Test like other National Law Universities do admissions to the undergraduate (UG) B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) program are done through the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET), a test conducted every year by the university
NLUD offers a five-year undergraduate, B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) program. Seventy seats are offered and ten additional seats are allocated to foreign nationals.
NLUD also offers a one-year LL.M. program. The admission is through a written test which is conducted by the University followed by an interview

Eligibility


For BA LLB (Hons)
Senior Secondary School Examination (10+2 System) or Equivalent Examination with 50% marks. The candidates appearing in the 12th standard examination in March/April, 2018 can also apply.
Age Limit: Below 21 years as on 01st July 2018 (23 years in case of SC/ST candidates). Foreign Nationals are exempted from AILET. For the Foreign Nationals to be eligible, they need to have 65% marks in the qualifying exam.
Total Seats: 80 seats, 10 seats are kept aside for Foreign Nationals.
Reservation: 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST and 3% for Persons with Disabilities [One additional seat for Kashmiri Migrants; two supernumerary seats for students from J&K subject to the approval of Governing Council; the candidates have to appear in the AILET and fulfill the eligibility criteria as applicable.

For LLM (One year)
LLB or an Equivalent Law Degree with 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/Persons with Disability); the candidates appearing in final LLB examination in April/May 2018 can also apply.
Total Seats: 45+5 seats for Foreign Nationals. Foreign Nationals are exempted from AILET (No. of seats may vary).
Reservation: 15% for SC candidates, 7.5% for ST candidates, 3% for Persons with Disabilities.

For PhD
LLM Degree with 55% marks or its equivalent (50% in case of SC/ST/Persons with Disability); for detailed eligibility conditions visit University website  

Syllabus


AILET Syllabus for LLB program will cover topics from English including Comprehension, General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Elementary Mathematics, Legal Aptitude, and Logical Reasoning.
AILET Syllabus for LLM program will cover topics from Law of Contracts, Law of Torts, Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, and Legal Theory
